DAY 01 : ARRIVAL JAKARTA – CITY TOUR
Upon arrival in Jakarta, direct for Jakarta city tour visiting the Old Town Batavia and Sunda Kelapa harbor. Known as Kota Tua, it was the reminiscent of the vicinity during colonial times in 16th century. The city was only within Batavia walled compound (today Kota), while the surrounding areas was only kampong (villages), orchards and ricefields. From Kota Tua, it’s a short drive to National Museum, then visit the National Monument (Monas). Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay in Santika Premier in Jakarta.
DAY 02 : JAKARTA – BOGOR – BANDUNG (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will Bogor Botanical Garden with its collection of over 10,000 different species of tropical plants. The gardens officially opened in 1817. They were used to research and develop plants and seeds from other parts of Indonesia for cultivation during the 19th century. This is a tradition that continues today and contributes to the garden’s reputation as the center of botanical research. Proceed to Bandung via Puncak tea plantation, and an optional stop can be made here. Upon arrival in Bandung, direct to visit an Angklung performance (Saung Angklung Udjo). The performance are shown by children and is an is a very interesting session. Angklung is a musical instrument made of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are carved to have a resonant pitch when struct and are tuned to octaves. The base of the frame is held in one hand, whilst the other hand strucks the instrument. This causes a repeating note to sound. Each of three or more performers in and angklung ensemble play just one note or more, but altogether complete melodies are produced. 2 overnight stays in Hotel Sukajadi or Hotel Grand Tjokro in Bandung.
DAY 03 : BANDUNG – EXCURSIONS (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Today is a fullday program to explore Bandung and its surrounding. A short drive within the city to the live of local people, then drive to Tangkuban Perahu mountainous area to see Tangkuban Perahu volcano. It is a dormant volcano which last erupted in 1959, and is a popular tourist attraction where tourists can hike or ride to the edge of the crater to view the hot water springs and boiling mud up close, and buy eggs cooked on the hot surface. Then visit a hot springs nearby. In the evening, stroll to the city center for fashion or try out the varied local snacks (optional).
DAY 04 : BANDUNG – JOGJAKARTA by TRAIN (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to train station of Bandung for departing to Jogjakarta (about 7 hours) by Argo Wilis train in first class. Arrive in Jogjakarta in the afternoon. Transfer to hotel and rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, you can make your own program to the famous Malioboro street, enjoy the hustle bustle and souvenier vendors, and try to bargain to get the best offer. 2 overnight stays in Jogjakarta Plaza or Grand Tjokro in Jogjakarta.
DAY 05 : JOGJAKARTA – CITY TOUR & EXCURSION TO BOROBUDUR (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will visit The Jogjakarta Sultan Palace of “Kraton” which is built in grand and elegant Javanese architectural style, lies in the centre of the municipality. It was built in 1756 by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I. Next to the Kraton is the Taman Sari water castle, one a bathing pool for the king and his wifes. Then Kotagede, a neat, little and old town of Jogjakarta which was once the seat of the mighty Mataram kingdom, you will have the chance to visit silver works industry. Then drive to Borobudur, a Buddhist Temple located 42km west of Jogjakarta. It is one of the world’s most famous temple, standing majestic and serene on a hillock overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. The shrine is the world’s and most complete of Buddhist reliefs. Afternoon return to Jogjakarta.
DAY 06 : JOGJAKARTA – EXCURSION TO PRAMBANAN – SOLO (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Today you will visit the magnificent Prambanan Hindu Temple. The temple is a 9th century Hindu temple compound dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator, the Sustainer and the Destroyer. It is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia, and is one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Then continue to visit the nearby Sewu Temple, located within the same complex of Prambanan. Then drive to Solo at Mangkunegaran Palace, a classical repository of classical Javanese art and culture. It has numerous priceless treasures which is believed to be from Majapahit century. Overnight stay in Roemah Koe Heritage or Lor Inn in Solo.
DAY 07 : SOLO – KEDIRI (B)
Breakfast at hotel. From Solo drive to Sukuh Temple, which has a distinctive thematic reliefs from other temples where life before birth and sexual education are its main theme. Drive through scenic area of Tawangmangu and Magetan with its beautiful panorama. Arrive at Kediri in the afternoon, a lively city where one of the biggest cigarette’s company, Gudang Garam, is located. Overnight stay in Hotel Grand Surya in Kediri.
DAY 08 : KEDIRI – MALANG – BROMO (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Today drive to Mount Kelud to see its phenomenon, with its new-born dome of Kelud (this visit is subject to condition at the time). From Mount Kelud, heading to Malang via Batu. Malang a delightful town of well planned parks and wide, tree lined avenues. Once a major coffee growing centre, there is still a lingering and agreeable air of Dutch influence throughout this country town. From Malang, continue the drive upward to Bromo. Overnight stay in Cafe Lava or Lava View in Bromo.
DAY 09 : BROMO – EXCURSION – SURABAYA (B)
Very early morning, at 3am. Leave the hotel for Cemoro Lawang, about 1 hour drive, to get to the closest point from where to start the discovery of Bromo volcano. The trip continues on foot or horse-back (cost for horse riding is not included) to cross the sand-sea to get to the feet of Mount Bromo. The spectacular view of the range of volcanoes (Bromo, Batok and Semeru) is unveiled along with the rise of the morning sun. Bromo is one of the multitudes of active volcanoes throughout Java. The view of this site is particularly spectacular. Afterward drive back to the hotel for breakfast and prepare to departure to Surabaya. Late afternoon arrival in Surbaya, the evening at leisure.
Overnight stay in Singgasana Hotel or Ibis Rajawali in Surabaya.
DAY 10 : SURABAYA – SIGHTSEEING – TRANSFER AIRPORT (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Surabaya is the second biggest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, well known as City of Heroes. Today you will start for sightseeing by visiting House of Sampoerna Museum, Jembatan Merah Monument, The Heroes Monument and Museumand Grahadi (The White House of Surabaya / The Governor Official Residence). Hereafter proceed to Airport for onward flight. End of services.
